Leaders are necessary in any human group activity. If more than two people attempt to work together, someone must lead or the activities will falter. The leadership may be intuitive, subtle, unrecognized, untitled, but at least one person in a group activity must assume the responsibility of thinking about the group and its goals and progress as a whole for such a group to function well.
