Skipping, and Jumping in Puddles
I do non-RC work with parents, and I have an “assignment” for them when they talk about feeling “burned out” [exhausted] and having no attention for their children. I suggest that they skip wholeheartedly, preferably in a public place (with a buddy if they’d like). They report that it changes everything.
It’s one of the things I do when I notice I am feeling “stuck in my head” and buried in distress and I don’t have time to stop for a Co-Counseling session or mini-session. It quickly wriggles loose some of the “cobwebs.” Jumping in puddles is also good for this.
