Growth in the Basque Country and Friendly Contact in Cuba

Hola querido Harvey,
Primeramente un saludo y una sonrisa larga para ti y para la traductora de esta carta. ¿Qué tal estás tú? ¿Y tu salud?
Aquí estamos muy bien. El área de Euskalerria (Basque Country) crece rápido. Pronto tendremos dos áreas organizadas más. Aunque la opresión política es cada día más fuerte y despiadada, confiamos en una solución dialogada. Trabajamos muy duro en esto, y con mucho orgullo.
Hace tres meses que volvimos de Cuba y por eso te quiero contar qué hicimos allá.
- Dimos clases básicas de Co-escucha (Co-Counselling) durante cinco mañanas en la Universidad Pedagógica de Camagüey á ochenta profesores/as y alumnos/as.
- Dimos una charla de Co-escucha en el Hospital Natural de la Habana del Este á setenta personas.
- Dimos una clase teórica y práctica de Co-escucha en el Hospital Psiquiatrico de la Habana á veinticinco médicos/as, psiquiatras y enfermeros/as. Les gustó mucho.
En general todas las personas quedaron muy contentas con estas ideas, asi nos lo refleja las abundantes cartas que nos mandan desde Cuba.
Intenté todos los días comunicar por teléfono con el profesor de RC que vive en la Habana, pero no conseguí hablar con él, y cuando fui a su dirección me indicaron que no correspondía con el teléfono que aparece suyo en el Present Time. De todas maneras le escribí desde la Habana y le mandé todas las direcciones necesarias de la gente que acudió a nuestro curso y charlas.
Algunas personas están interesadas en continuar con R-C y practicarlo. Esto ya lo dejo en tus manos, o en quien tú creas apropiado/a.
Las direcciones las conseguimos por medio de Eneko Landaburu quien enseñó un poco de R-C y Medicina vital (higienismo) un mes antes de ir nosotros. Esto es lo que suscitó el interés de la gente por saber más.

Here we are very well. The Euskalerria Area (Basque Country) is growing rapidly. Soon we are going to have two more organized Areas. Even though the political oppression is getting stronger and more savage every day, we are confident of a solution through holding talks. We are working very hard on this, and with a lot of pride.
Three months ago we returned from Cuba, and I want to tell you what we did there.
- We taught fundamentals Co-Counselling classes on five mornings to eighty professors and students in the Teachers' College of Camagüey.
- We gave a talk about Co-Counselling in the Natural Hospital of East Havana for seventy people.
- We taught a class in the theory and practice of Co-Counselling in the Psychiatric Hospital of Havana to twenty-five doctors, psychiatrists, and nurses. They liked it a lot.
In general, everyone was very pleased with these ideas as reflected in the many letters that they send us from Cuba.
Every day I tried to phone the RC teacher who lives in Havana, but I did not manage to talk with him, and when I went to his address, they told me that it did not belong with the telephone number that appears in Present Time. In any case, I wrote to him from Havana and sent him all the necessary addresses from the people who attended our course and talks.
Some people are interested in continuing with the practice of RC. This I now leave in your hands, or in the hands of whomever you think appropriate.
We got the addresses through Eneko Landaburu, who taught a little RC and Vital Medicine (Hygienism) a month before we went. This is what aroused interest in the people to know more.
