I am pleased to share the expectations for RC Community members in Unizik Awka, Anambra, Nigeria. They have been adapted from the Guidelines for the Re-evaluation Counseling Communities to reflect the values and practices of our Community.
These expectations provide guidance on personal growth, Co-Counseling, participation, and contribution, while promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members.
By committing to these expectations, we ensure that our Community continues to flourish and support each member’s re-emergence and learning journey.
The following are our Community membership expectations:
Commit to the one-point program: Use RC to recover your occluded intelligence and innate humanness, while supporting others in doing the same. Make this your central focus in all RC activities.
Understand and follow the Guidelines: Familiarize yourself with RC principles, policies, and expectations. Use the Guidelines as a framework for your participation and interactions.
Complete fundamentals training: Attend an RC fundamentals class or equivalent to gain a strong understanding of RC theory, tools, and methods. This ensures that you can fully participate and contribute to the Community.
Engage in personal re-emergence: Work consistently on your own growth, healing, and self-awareness. Be willing to explore personal patterns, past experiences, and distresses in a safe and supportive way.
Participate in regular Co-Counseling: Maintain at least one consistent Co-Counseling session weekly. Use these sessions to support both your own re-emergence and that of your partner(s).
Focus RC relationships on growth: Keep all RC relationships centered on Co-Counseling and personal development. Avoid gossip, distractions, or conversations that do not serve re-emergence.
Respect confidentiality: Safeguard the privacy of all shared session content. Do not disclose what others share unless you have clear permission. Trust is central to building a safe Community.
Attend classes and workshops: Take advantage of ongoing classes, workshops, and learning sessions. Consistent participation deepens your understanding of RC theory and practice.
Practice inclusivity and flexibility: Ensure the Community is welcoming and supportive of members from diverse backgrounds, life circumstances, and experiences. Be sensitive to the needs of those who face barriers to participation.
Promote respect, fairness, and integrity: Interact with care and consideration, honoring differences in perspectives and experiences. Be mindful of how your words and actions impact others.
Support leadership: Cooperate with Community leaders, teachers, and coordinators. Be open to guidance, referencing, and thoughtful feedback that supports growth and re-emergence.
Take initiative in roles and responsibilities: Be willing to volunteer for teaching, assisting, organizing, or other roles that help the Community function smoothly. Leadership is shared, and everyone’s contribution matters.
Contribute to the Community’s growth: Actively participate in activities, help coordinate events, and support the development of new members. Your engagement strengthens the Community as a whole.
Stay active and connected: Maintain regular communication with fellow members, teachers, and Co-Counselors. Being active ensures personal growth and fosters a flourishing Community environment.
Commit to lifelong learning and development: Continuously engage with RC materials, discussions, and workshops. Be open to new learning, reflection, and growth to enhance both your own practice and the Community’s collective well-being.
