Surgery and Drugs

I have had two major surgeries within the last four years.

Before the first surgery, I wrote a letter to the medical staff explaining my RC practice and how important it was to have access to my emotions in order to heal deeply. I included that I did not want any narcotic drugs until I was able to decide to take them and that I wanted no amnestic drugs.

I appreciated the medical staff in the letter, and I shared it with as many people as possible. Well, the nurse read it, put it in my chart, and every person who touched the chart read it and followed my instructions. The anesthesiologist was excited about the letter and agreed to all my requests.

I wrote a similar letter for my second surgery and had a similar experience.

I think most medical people are caring humans who want to connect and make sure things go well for us.
