Publicity for "Survivors of Violence"
Today I am making final plans for an event on Sunday which will include music, art, poetry, drumming, and dance for survivors of violence. The presenters will include a mother whose son committed suicide, a mother whose daughter was murdered in September, and myself as a psychiatric institution survivor. There will also be art by several death-row inmates. The event is called "The Surviving Spirit-Dancing in the Evening Light," and we are offering free tickets for survivors of violence. Many groups and people are involved in this. It is exciting to offer the community a way to come out and be bold and proud about surviving painful experiences.
