Movement in Mauritius

In March I held a one-day class about RC for a Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) group at Bean Bassin. It was composed of men, women, and one small family (of three). It was a nice and warm class. There will be another in August during the school holidays.

Then the fundamentals class which I taught last year had a one-day workshop on April 8 at the Thasor in Bean Bassin. We talked about self-appreciation, and each person spoke about: what's good about being me; what's hard about being me; my goals for the rest of my life. We had support groups. We enjoyed ourselves a lot! Usually women like to go to the seaside or visit relatives or just rest at home. But for an RC workshop these women did not hesitate to 'give up' their public holiday. These special persons want another workshop during August holidays. I'll have it with the YMCA group, and with Sheila's students as well.

When I feel lonely I think about all the Co-Counselors all around the world. I went to the workshop and conference in 1992-the whole-wide-world one! How nice it was! So many years since that event and I still remember the faces, the skills, and the trip.

I intend to keep working for two more years, then make RC my only occupation. Thus I will have to see about the financial participation of the students.
