Appreciating an RC Leader

Dear Waveney,

On August 3rd I celebrated two years of being formally introduced to RC. During that period I have been indeed very fortunate to meet and Co-Counsel with some very wonderful people, but most importantly, I have been able to really get to know/understand my son and be an ally for him (most of the time). I thank you most sincerely for that. I look at my relationship with my son and I am grateful every day for the day we 'met' you.

I have had quite a bit of time within the past week to read the July issue of Present Time. It seems that every article in there had some paragraph, sentence or word that was relevant to my life and caused me to focus more directly on the impact you have made in my life.

In a recent Co-Counseling session I had a tremendous breakthrough on some distress that I had occluded. I still have quite a lot of work to do on this but in the interim I often hear your voice clearly giving me directions contradicting my distress. It is wonderful to get rid of distress that has been weighing me down for so long. I have a place for discharging when I am alone. I scream in my car while I am driving. This is especially good at night when traffic is light so that no other road-user is alarmed.

Waveney, this is all a jumble, but really it is to tell you that I appreciate you for all your warmth, generosity, love, and the good attention that you have given me. Thank you for teaching me RC fundamentals the way you did and in helping me to see the wonderful, intelligent and talented person I am. Putting me as a leader of a support group was something I felt unable to do. You challenged me and I did me proud. You have brought new meaning to my life. I have such good feelings and hope for the future.

As you go off to Beijing I want you to take with you good thoughts/feelings as to the tremendous work you have done and continue to do for so many women in this region. Please also remember that not only have you contributed to enhancing the lives of these many women, but your efforts will also impact on their children and future generations.

I love you.
