A Personal Goal to Limit Global Warming
I’ve been starting to work on my five-year climate plan and realized that I hadn’t yet decided to make sure that the climate does not exceed the 1.5-degree warming that’s predicted within the next five to twenty-five years.
I’m now setting that limit to warming as a goal, and I encourage everyone to try the direction below in Co-Counseling sessions (I’m working with the wording and welcome suggestions):
“I decide that I will not let the world warm more than 1.5 degrees. And this means . . . .”
I’ve realized that if preventing any further rise in temperature is not my goal, I am actually allowing further warming to happen without opposition, or I am accepting a goal of additional warming.
I expect that setting this goal will help me act more powerfully than I would without it.
