My Abortion Experience
I’m now seventy-two years old. I became pregnant when I was married. We didn’t intend to have children at that time, for economic reasons.
I wanted the baby. However, my husband wanted me to have an abortion. I was afraid that having the baby would destroy our marriage, so I travelled to another U.S. state and had a legal abortion. I knew I was ending a life, but I felt like I was protecting the child from living in an unsupportive environment.
