The Distinctive Character of RC Theory and Practice
The reason for such care and caution and for insistence on adherence to the Guidelines [the Guidelines for the Re-evaluation Counseling Communities] . . . arises out of the distinctive character of RC theory and practice and the importance of distinguishing it from the patterns which generally operate in society.
Our growing body of “RC knowledge” is sharply different from the mass of patterned assumptions on which the societies operate and with which people everywhere have been deluged in the process of their training and conditioning by the oppressive society.
