Tears about Trees
I became concerned about the environment when I saw my father upset when he saw a tree being cut down. He even had tears in his eyes, and we never cried in our family.
In the early 1990s, I suggested to Harvey (Jackins) that we have an International Reference Person for Care of the Environment. He appointed Wytske Visser. I led some workshops on the topic. I started them with people going outside and having a five-minute-each-way mini-session in which they were given attention while they explored something in the environment. I cried just touching a tree.
