Appreciating a Working-Class Workshop

I attended a working-class workshop (on Zoom) led by Barbara Tompsett [Regional Reference Person for Oxfordshire and Berkshire, England]. I loved the information and Barbara’s relaxed and thoughtful manner.

Barbara talked about the capitalist system and its catastrophic impacts on the world’s population. She said that as long as we aren’t close and united, the four percent of the world’s population will do whatever they like to the rest of us, and that every time we fight among ourselves, we are distracted from capitalism’s catastrophic policies and their impact on the world.

She gave powerful sessions to lots of people—amazing!

On Sunday we had a climate change discussion and lots of Co-Counseling sessions. I was surprised by the extent of people’s wide-world-change activities.

I am having a rich life, visiting the coffee shop where the men go and have challenging conversations. I’m remembering two things: First, that there are no enemies. Next, that when I get restimulated by someone’s distress patterns, not to blame the person but rather to pay attention to my own distresses and take them to sessions for discharge.
