Thoughts from Tim

The Process
We Call Discharge

Acting Rationally
Contradicts People’s
Distresses

You may find it helpful to remember that acting rationally will tend to contradict the distresses of those around you and lead them to intuitively hope that they can use your free attention to achieve discharge for themselves. This may motivate them to try to claim sessions with you on their distresses which your actions contradict. Such “upsets” happening around you are not in themselves indications that something is going “wrong” or that you are doing “wrong.” It is much more likely that they are intuitive attempts by other people to claim a session, with you being the counselor.
