Ten Ways to "Win"
Here are ten steps for winning that Gwen Brown listed and posted at a raised-poor workshop in May 1996 on the East Coast of the USA.
- Make sure you are in a Co-Counseling class.
- Make sure you have at least one good, dependable, weekly Co-Counselor.
- Think big. Decide what you want, and set a specific goal. (You are much bigger than any distress patterns you carry.)
- Get a really good picture that you can make it happen.
- Decide that you will make it happen.
- As you aim for winning, lots of old feelings will come up. Discharge a lot, more than once a week. (When we were small, we knew we deserved attention and needed to discharge.)
- Get any information you need. Ask for help.
- Act outside of discouragement.
- Keep discharging and acting. Stay close to your Co-Counselor, no matter how hopeless it feels.
- Win! (Keep discharging.)
