Leader talks about UER involvement in the UN Conference Against Racism, the upcoming US NGO Conference Against Racism, and UER (for background information refer to the pamphlet UER and the UN Conference Against Racism and the information posted on the UER web site www.rc.org/uer)
Mini session — people of color should have the chance to choose their partners first
Leader
-
talks about racism, decision we've made to end racism, and the work we've done
since making that decision (the pamphlet Working Together to End Racism is a good basis
for this talk and "UER Follow-up Activities—in South Africa, Nigeria, Columbia, Ecuador,
Peru, Chile and the United States" in Present Time #129, October 2002, page 47-50) or
- shows excerpts from the video Reaching New People with our Work to End Racism,
ten to fifteen minute segments from ten of the UER workshops at the UN World Conference
(we recommend the excerpts of Njoki Kamau on racism targeting African people, Azi Khalili
on Asian liberation, and/or Kerrie Tim on indigenous peopleÕs liberation).
The leader can then add his or her own thoughts. Or
- shows part of the video "The Ending of Racism" (interviews of people talking
about the impact of racism and Re-evaluation Counseling on their lives).
Show one person at a time and have mini sessions in between.
-
Mini-session in 3-ways—ask question how has racism affected your life? Have people of color pick who they want first.
