UER Activities in the Caribbean

Barbados — October 2003
Waveney Richards led a delegation of three other Co-Counselors from Trinidad and Tobago (Robert Young, Gizelle Carr, Netsanet Amare) to participate as UER in a follow-up to Durban for Africans and African Descendants. Five hundred people attended, representing groups from the Caribbean, Africa, Canada, Europe and the United States. UER support groups were conducted as follows: Men Targeted by Racism, Healing the Damage Caused by Racism in Education, The Role of Youth in Ending Racism, and Internalized Racism. UER delegates participated in the education, young adult, and men's caucuses.
