This class is meant as a guide for people who are very interested in learning the theory and practice of RC.
If you already know RC, or even if you are an RC teacher, you may find the materials available here very useful because they are very accessible.
As an inactive class member you will be given access to the class materials. In addition to the on-line articles, this includes a subscription to Present Time and a copy of the revised version of The List, which is a book containing most of the theory of RC in a very condensed format, and therefore very useful as a reference. If you already subscribe to Present Time or have purchased a copy of The List, then you can apply for a discount.
If you sign up as an active member of this class, then you will be put in contact with an online teacher who will guide you through the class and be available for the questions that inevitably come up while you are learning. In addition, you will be given access to the class materials.
The theory and practice covered in this class, if followed, has the potential to give you a very good understanding of Re-evaluation Counseling. The depth of this understanding, however, depends very much on how effective you and your partner become in counseling each other.
For each of the lessons you will be given one or more articles to read, as well as instructions on how to apply this information in your session. Before each session, you and your partner should go through the class materials and make sure that both of you understand the theory presented. After each session you and your partner will write down a report on the session, as well as any questions you may have at that time. The report and the questions should then be sent via e-mail to the on-line teacher, who will respond as soon as possible.
When you and the on-line teacher feel that you have understood the theory and counseling techniques of a particular lesson, you will proceed to the next lesson. The nice thing about being in an on-line class is that it is up to you how long you spend in each lesson.
We will use the literature available on the RC web site as much as possible, but the class also includes some printed literature (The Fundamentals of Co-Counseling Manual, The List, and a 1-year subscription to the Present Time journal).
The class uses the same materials that are available to regular 'live' fundamentals classes.
